Ready for a new familycanoodle adveture? I recommend taking a car ride over to a gorgeous place called Swan Valley near Breckenridge, Colorado. The view is beautiful but there’s more! There is a place called Snow Cap Sled Dogs with about 150 Siberean Huskies ready to work and bring your family an adventure you will never forget!

At first, when you drive to the place it seems like it’s in the middle of nature and there is a dirt road that leads you to this wonderful doggie world.

Once you arrive, you check in with one of the staff members there and they start by assigning you to someone who will give your family a tour. The tour is so incredible because you get to learn all about these beautiful Siberian Huskies and how much work goes into this operation.

Each dog has a very unique name and personality. Some of their names were really fun like Fry, Heidi and Everest. The staff there is really knowledgeable about the Siberian Huskies and really love them like their own pets. Sarah was our tour guide and she answers all of your questions. You can tell that the dogs are loved and well taken care of.

They have several types of adventures available both in the summer and in the winter. Our family attended their summer option and it was reallly unforgettable. We got to ride in a golf cart which gets pulled by the Siberian Huskies through the incredible views of the Swan Valley and the mountains. There were several rest stops and water breaks for the dogs and we got to get out and stretch as well. For more information on the summer adventure you can go to their website: http://www.snowcapssleddogs.com/ or call 970-453-PULL.

For the winter dog sledding adventures, you contact Good Times Adventures at http://www.goodtimesadventures.com/ or call 970-453-7604. The winter dog sledding time is busier than the summer so there are no tours of the kennel for this option. You do get an hour of the ride with the Siberian Huskies. The price for the winter tours are $75 per person, $40 for kids eight to four years of age and three and under are free. It is not recommended for children age three and under. They also have snow mobiling options and for more information you can visit or call the number that is in this article above.

  1. Nicely done! I like the look and feel of the blog.

I recommend putting a link to Swan Valley, or possibly a Google Map to the location for those who don’t know where it is. I love the photos and the descriptions. Nicely done!

The only other tweak I would recommend is to move the calendar, recent posts, archives and catagories widgets to the upper right hand side instead of at the bottom of the post. But if you prefer that at the bottom to make it seem uncluttered on the sides, that would make sense as well.

Also, does your template allow you to put in a widget for people to subscribe to posts? I was able to put one on my blog. It’s nice so you don’t have to email people directly to let them know you have new posts, or hope that they like your blog so much that they come back on their own: http://blackburn-photography.blogspot.com/ –check on the right hand side, mid-way down. (And now that I said that, I want to add it to my group blog if I can….)

    Great job!

    • Hi Cimarron,

I’m glad you enjoyed the post and are interested in learning more. It was a very unique experience and I highly recommend checking out either the winter option or the summer options. (Please note: they have different phone numbers and even thought they both work with the same dogs they are two different entitites for summer and winter).

      Thank you for your feedback!

      Leana:-)

  4. Leana,

This sounds like such a great adventure to do with your family. The summer time sounds so much more enjoyable than the winter time plus it sounds like you learn a little bit more because you get to take the tour.

The pictures you took were absolutely beautiful. Huskies are such wonderful and powerful dogs.

    • Hi Tina,

I have never done the winter adventure but the summer one was so much fun! You are correct! The tour is something that is special and you do not get that when you do the winter one. I am sure the winter one is fun though!

Thanks so much for your nice comments on the photos I took. Yes, those huskies are gorgeous and such great animals.

      Leana
